Virtual Domains

Virtual Domain hosting on the Calgary Community Net can be provided to member non-profit organizations of the Calgary Community Network Association, on a first-come-first serve basis, subject to the following conditions:

1. The hosting service is provided at no cost by the Calgary Community-Net to non-profit organizations which are members of the Calgary Community Network Association. However, such members must also subscribe to the Unlimited Dialup service.

    

2. The service will be provided for registered Non-Profit organizations only, such as:
   • Community organizations
   • Charitable organizations
   • Professional, technical and other such organizations

   Proof of Non-Profit Status must be provided.

    

3. The service will not be available for:
   • Individuals
   • For-profit organizations
   • Businesses

    

4. Only a limited number of organizations may obtain this privilege. This privilege is provided on first-come-first-serve basis to qualified non-profit organizations.

    

5. The domain name service does not include a virtual email address. The username will remain username@calcna.ab.ca.

    

6. The organization must maintain an actively monitored e-mail address within the organization's web site posted on the Calgary Community-Net.

    

7. It is the organizations responsibility to obtain the domain name. The information for registering .ca  domains is available at:

    The Canadian Internet Registration Authority

   The Calgary Community-Net will not host a domain registered in the '.com' top level domain and only domains in the '.ab.ca' level.

    

8. Requests for Virtual Domains should be made to: Information Provider Committee <ip@calcna.ab.ca>
