User Agreement
This Agreement represents the complete agreement and understanding between
the Calgary Community Network Association, (herein after called "Calgary Community-Net"),
and User and supersedes any other written or oral agreement. Upon notice
published on-line via the Calgary Community-Net domain services home page at
http://www.calcna.ab.ca/, Calgary Community-Net may change these terms
and conditions, and/or discontinue or change the services offered.
Terms and Conditions of account use:

This Agreement shall remain in effect until the User terminates its account
or Calgary Community-Net cancels User's account. Calgary Community-Net may occasionally
require new registration and account information by the User to continue
this service. In addition, the User shall notify Calgary Community-Net in
writing or by e-mail of any changes in the account information, such as address
or phone number.

Calgary Community-Net reserves the right to change the terms and conditions by
publishing on-line via the Calgary Community-Net domain services home page at
http://www.calcna.ab.ca/ at least 30 days in advance of the effective
date of the change. Use by the User after the effective date constitutes
acceptance of the new terms and conditions. If User does not agree to
the new terms and conditions, the User may cancel this Agreement at any
time by giving Calgary Community-Net proper written notice in accordance with
the terms and conditions stated herein. Calgary Community-Net also reserves the
right to terminate an account at any time for any reason.

All registered users of the Calgary Community-Net must provide accurate information
on their application forms.

Calgary Community-Net will provide services on its host computing systems to
individual Users in exchange for compliance with the terms and conditions
of this document. Calgary Community-Net services are defined as the use by the
User of computing, telecommunications, software, and information services
provided by Calgary Community-Net. These services also include the provision of
access to computing, telecommunications, software and information services
provided by others via the world-wide computer network known as the Internet.
Access to the Internet is sometimes temporarily disrupted by mechanical
breakdown, technological changes, weather conditions and other forces beyond
Calgary Community-Net's control. User agrees that such temporary disruptions
are not a breach of this agreement.

When User has access to Calgary Community-Net services such a e-mail, User
agrees to maintain a secure password to the account. It is recommended that
the User change the password on a regular basis to protect him/herself
from the most common breach of Internet security.

User agrees not to use any Calgary Community-Net services to obtain the passwords
of users on Calgary Community-Net or other systems. The User agrees not
to use Calgary Community-Net services to make unauthorized attempts to access
the systems and networks of others.

The User agrees not to use Calgary Community-Net services to violate copyright
or other intellectual property rights of any author or publisher. For example,
the User may not upload or download commercial software in violation
of software license agreements.

The User agrees to use the services provided by Calgary Community-Net as permitted
by applicable local, provincial, and federal laws. The User agrees,
therefore, not to use these services to conduct any business or activity
or solicit the performance of any activity that is prohibited by law.

The User agrees to refrain from the use of obscene, abusive or otherwise
objectionable language in either public or private messages. The User
agrees to refrain from mass posting of the same message to many inappropriate
Usenet newsgroups (Spamming). The User agrees to refrain from mass,
unsolicited e-mailings. The User agrees to post advertisements only where
appropriate, for instance in biz.for.sale, and other venues that specifically
encourage or allow advertising. The User agrees to respect the conventions
of the newsgroups, lists and networks to which the User is posting, including
rules more restrictive than, but not limited to, the above.
User agrees to abide by Calgary Community-Net's interpretation of the above.

Any use of Calgary Community-Net system resources that disrupts the normal use
of the system for other Calgary Community-Net users is considered to be abuse
of system resources and is grounds for administrative intervention. Some
examples of system abuse include spawning dozens of processes, consuming
excessive amounts of memory or CPU for long periods of time, and staying
attached to modems while not "active" on the line.

Violations of the Calgary Community-Net conditions for use are unethical and may
in some cases be criminal offenses. You are expected to report to Calgary
Community-Net any information you may have concerning instances in which the
conditions of use have been or are being violated. When Calgary Community-Net
becomes aware of possible violations, we will attempt to ask appropriate
users about the matter. At the same time, in order to prevent further
possible unauthorized activity, Calgary Community-Net may suspend access to services
to the individual account in question. Confirmation of violations may result
in cancellation of the individual account and/or criminal prosecution. The
account suspension may be rescinded at the discretion of Calgary Community-Net.

Calgary Community-Net reserves the right to monitor Users' actions when this
is necessary to determine whether or not the User is violating the conditions
of use.
Warranties and Limitation of Liability

Information contained on the Calgary Community-Net is placed there for general
informational and educational purposes and is, in no way, intended to refer
or be applicable to any specific person, case, or situation.

The User is solely responsible for the content and use of its account,
and shall indemnify and hold Calgary Community-Net harmless for any and all loss,
cost, damage and expense due in whole or in part to the content and use of
User's account. Calgary Community-Net shall not be responsible for any
consequential or other damages caused or alleged to be caused by User's
account content or useon the Internet, or the User's inability
to use the Calgary Community-Net.
Acceptance

Information provided on the Calgary Community-Net is offered as a community service
and is not a substitute for individual professional consultation. Adequate
professional guidance for making personal decisions cannot be provided through
an electronic format of this type. Advice on individual problems should be
obtained personally from a professional.
By my submitting this form, I agree that:
a) I understand this agreement;
b) That by using the Calgary Community-Net, I am not seeking to establish a
doctor/patient, lawyer/client, or similar relationship with any of the
information providers or other users.
