The Calgary Community Network Association is a non-profit, community oriented organization which is entirely financially dependent upon remote access and course fees, donations, contributions, and sponsorships. Annual Membership to the Calgary Community Network Association is $10.00 per year.
The CCNA provides both TEXT BASED and GRAPHICAL access to the Internet. The computer equipment, the Internet access line, the telephone lines, the modems and software necessary to provide this type of access to the Internet are operational costs that must be paid by the Calgary Community Network Association out of fees, donations, promotional material and course fees received.
Membership privileges include:
1. Voting rights at the Calgary Community Network Association Annual General Meeting.
2. Eligibility to run for a position on the Board of Directors.
3. Text access to the Association's server.
4. An e-mail account, which can be accessed via text, Web-mail or POP3.
5. Attendance , for a reduced fee, at Internet courses offered by the CCNA.
6. A personal web page on the system
Anyone within the local dialing area of Calgary, Alberta can access the Internet, through the CCNA's modems for an additional fees of either $35 or $115 per year. The additional $35 fee provides 2 hours per day of dial-up access. The additional $115 fee provides an unlimited number of max 2 hrs. logins per day between 6:00 a.m. and midnight and up to 6 hrs. between midnight and 6:00 a.m.
