Calgary Community Network Association (CCNA) Mandate

The Calgary Community Network Association has a mandate to provide Calgary and the surrounding area with local, computerized information with an educational value, at the lowest possible cost.

What this means is that the CCNA currently provides, and will continue to provide, access to an easy to use computer system that contains local information as well as access to the Internet. However, the access to the Internet is an - "offshoot" - not the primary focus of the CCNA.

The CCNA is not a Bulletin Board Service.

The CCNA system uses a Lynx browser to access TEXT only based information. The simple arrow key functions and single letter commands, shown at the bottom of each screen, are infinitely easier for beginners to learn to use, than more complicated unix commands.

* The CCNA offers the following:

1. OPERATING POLICY

Effective November 1, 1995, the CCNA changed its policies. These changes were implemented November 13, 1995 and updated in September of 1996.
