Configuring FreePPPThe following instructions will assume that FreePPP has been installed on
your Macintosh computer and that the FreePPP blue telephone icon ( To open the FreePPP Setup window:
The full FreePPP Setup window should appear (see Fig.2).

To save the FreePPP settings:
The CCNA dialup service should now appear in the FreePPP Setup window (see Fig.6).
Configuring ModemConfiguring ModemTo edit the modem settings:
The "FreePPP Modem Configurations" window should appear (see Fig.7).
To configure for your modem:
"My Modem" should now appear in the list on the left side of the FreePPP Settings window. Configuring TCP/IPConfiguring TCP/IPTo configure the TCP/IP settings:

FreePPP is now ready to access the CCNA's Dialup service. Testing your connectionTo test your connection:
FreePPP will then attempt to connect to CCNA's Dialing service selected. If successful, the blue telephone icon will display an upraised handset ( You can then begin using PPP applications such as your web browser and email program. To quit a dialup session:
Quit your PPP applications such as your web browser and email program as well.

TroubleshootingIf repeated dialup attempts fail, you may have entered your CCNA username or password incorrectly; re-enter your username and password and try again. If the CCNA username and password are correct, check the other settings. If a dialup attempt connects and then quits or the connection is unreliable, your modem settings may need changing. In the modem settings, try selecting a higher port speed or disable AutoDetect. Under the Modem control panel, try selecting a different modem model. If you tried all the above changes but still cannot connect, contact CCNA. Back Return to
