Question 1. How come I always get logged out 20 minutes after I logged in?
Idle Time is 20 minutes. That means if you're logged on to the system and you don't hit a "key stroke" within (19 minutes and 59 seconds) the system will log you off. So, if you are using Eudora and typing a long email I would suggest maybe use your browser every once in a while to avoid getting logged off.Question 2. How do I change my password?
On the first screen, after login, select: Main menu, About Your account/Manage your Files, Password Administration. Follow the instructions, slowly and carefully, and you will change your password. Its because we are actually on top of a shell based system called "Unix" which has a bug that sometimes say you have new mail when actually you don't. Hopefully, when we upgrade our system later on it will be fixed.Question 6. Lately I have been getting a message like:
This person isn't actually using your account. This problem is caused by the previous user disconnected without first logging off. Then sometimes the modem hangs up, and picks up the next call and directs it back to the same port. However, the server just thinks the input is idle and has kept the session open waiting for an input. So it thinks that the same user is trying to log in a second time, even though it is supposed to be your login. SOLUTION: Is to wait 20 minutes and try again it usually works.Question 7. What is my e-mail address?
Your email address is your login name and calcna.ab.ca. For example, our login name is help desk so our email address would be helpdesk@calcna.ab.ca. Run your browser on the location type:
telnet://calcna.ab.caand press enter, then login as you would normally would or click on start, run, type telnet calcna.ab.ca and click ok.

Just go to: How to make a home page.Question 11: How come I can't remove some of my bookmarks? The system says "Unable to re-open temporary file"...therefore I can't remove bookmarks using the "R" command?
When we upgraded our Lynx we naturally inherited some of the bugs and one of them is removing bookmarks. If you really want to remove bookmarks and you are pretty good at computers. Then give this a try.If your question were not answered here please email us at: helpdesk@calcna.ab.ca. Thanks!
View your bookmarks, type "E" for edit and you will see a HTML Document.
Each bookmark would look like this:
(li)(a href="whatever.html")Whatever(/a)
So if you want to delete some bookmarks then cursor down to the link that you want deleted and delete the whole line from (li) to (/a). After you are down modifying your bookmarks press "ctrl-x" then "Y" and enter to save the document.
