All HTML code is valid in your file with the exception of 'Forms' and 'image mapping' syntax, as this is not supported by the Calgary Community-Net. There is a generic icons directory for gif pictures which you can reference from you file. The file must be in ascii format - files generated in a word processing program can contain hidden code that really confuses browsers.
In order for anyone to read your 'Personal Home Page', you must let them know the Universal Resource Locator, (URL), of your page. This URL uniquely identifies your page to the entire Internet.
If you make your first filename in your public_html directory 'index.html' your URL will be:
where userid is your login name.
If you use another filename then you need to add this to the end of the above URL.
